Weird Al Sports Moments: Videos

Does Weird Al have a second career in sports?

In 2013, fans hoped that Weird Al would wow the world with a Super Bowl performance that would leave fans breathless -- from laughter. This music legend has had a prominent career since the mid-1980s; but does he have an athletic side? Thankfully, Weird Al has given us plenty of sports moments to laugh about.

And down the stretch comes Weird Al

Few fans outside of the horse racing world know that Weird Al is also a horse. This year, during April's Grand National in the U.K., Weird Al suffered injuries that were non-fatal. Born in 2003, this horse is owned by Brannon Dick Holden and is not associated with the musician Weird Al in any way.

Interestingly, in 1996, Weird Al did own a racehorse named Fashion's Best. However, he decided to alter the name and opened up a contest to fans called, "The Horse with No Name." Weird Al's intentions were to donate 10% of any winning purse to charity.

Camping with Weird Al

"Seinfeld" star Kramer was played by Michael Richards -- but he had an acting career before this television sitcom. Richards and Weird Al showed off in the late 1980s with a Camp MTV segment that touted, "tennis and knife fights." Few pieces of video are available online concerning Camp MTV, but the "Weird Al Show" did feature Camp Super Fun.

Teeing off and getting teed

In addition to sporty moments in videos like "Fat" and his album "Running with Scissors," Weird Al has a spotlight on golf that fans will not want to overlook. A celebrity charity event for VH1's "Save the Music," Weird Al proves that the golf course is simply another way to entertain those around him. Antics include being a caddie (but using the golf cart to drive around Las Vegas instead), trying on golf clothes, and teaching people how to golf by using a sobriety test as an example.

Weird Al's hamster Olympic prediction

When Weird Al recapped his 1980s MTV show in the 1990s, he was sure to catch fans up on Harvey the Hamster's Olympic training. He also once had a segment called the "Rock Video Olympics." While this rodent may not be eventing in the 2012 Olympics, Weird Al might have been foreshadowing. In 2014, the Sochi Olympics in Russia will feature "zorbing." These adult-sized human hamster balls are truly absurd.
